East Anglia has some of the best hardwoods in the world with a wealth of variation in colour and grain. All our wood is felled and cut locally from sustainable sources. The primary varieties of wood available include oak, brown oak, burr oak, elm, burr elm, ash, yew, walnut, cherry, cedar, chestnut and sycamore.
The wood is seasoned on site adjacent to our workshop. This is an integral part of a small-holding farmed on organic and conservation principles. We plant over two hundred trees annually, some to be developed for timber and others for fruit and nuts, although most are left to grow naturally.
Periodic storms like those in 1987 and 2002 are the source of much of our timber.
From the standing tree through to the finished piece, our skills create furniture of timeless character.
